Clinical Supervision and Consultancy

 

Dr Karen Ciclitira and Dr Fiona Starr have over fifteen years’ experience as consultants and supervisors in both public and private sectors. Dr Ciclitira has designed organisational strategies and led fundraising projects, including a campaign for a London health centre which succeeded in winning major awards from the National Lottery fund.

Dr Ciclitira has also directed and supervised a number of research projects in areas of physical and psychological health. Dr Starr has led service evaluations in the NHS and voluntary sectors, including for Simmons House Adolescent Unit and Tower Hamlets Homeless Health Team. They have both worked as trainers and consultants to teachers, doctors, nurses, social workers and other health-related professionals.

Clinical Supervision

Dr Ciclitira and Dr Starr offer individual and group clinical supervision for psychologists, counsellors, and psychotherapists. The areas they cover include cognitive, humanistic, integrative, psychoanalytic, and systemic models.

Teaching

Research Consultancy

Dr Ciclitira and Dr Starr have supervised numerous doctoral and research projects in psychology, and bring to supervision a strong record of their own academic research and service evaluation. They advise on designing and carrying out research projects, writing literature reviews, and working with different research methods.

Dr Ciclitira and Dr Starr have carried out service evaluation and audit within the NHS and voluntary sectors, and have advised clients on how to apply psychological theory and practice in the workplace for managing organisational change.

Dr Starr is experienced in medico-legal expert witness work, specialising in child protection and other psychological matters within legal contexts.
